Holy Honor!

Luke 2:52 Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

How can we live filled with joy, peace, and spiritual holiness in holidays filled with distraction and distortion

Seven Steps to Living Holy Holidays!

We often have a mind of our own of where we are supposed to be

Story of Jesus at 12 at Passover at the Temple

He was listening, asking, understanding, and answering

He was at his job interview; at 12 years old a boy will pick a profession

He picked Rabbi, Messiah, Savior

Did you not know this is what I would pick

Luke 2:51 Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them.

He went down literally means he descended; what from doing God’s will? NO!

He honored God by honoring his parents and becoming a stone mason, builder

We might think no honor God by studying to by Rabbi,

He honored God by honoring his parents; knowing God is honored is our honoring

Jesus gives us the first step in holy holidays, honor God by honoring others

Step 1: Holy Honor!

Sow the greatest holiday season by sowing honor to God through honor for others

Ps 50:15 Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you will honor me

What does it mean to honor God? Giving thanks, what does holy honor mean?

Holy Honor keeps the right perspective!

Rom 12:10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor others above yourselves.

We say we love you but don’t really like you, as we care for ourselves, care for others

Jesus taught don’t just love as you love you, but love them as I love them, honor…

Holy Honor lives in everyday life!

1 Cor 6:20 You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

Early church Gnostics; they were only about inside, living as I want; no outside is what is in

Holy Honor thrives in service!

1 Pet 2:17 Show respect to everyone, love the believers, fear God, honor the king

Respecting honoring others is honoring God, even leaders we disagree, pray for

Jesu began honor in the first Passover and completed his honoring at his last

Before the cross, Jesus kneels and honors his disciples by washing their feet

John 13:14-17 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you… Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Jesus then broke the bread, and gave the cup, so we’d remember, honor, and reach
