Treasure Key!

The World is full of fear, phobias, fear of the color orange, chrysophobia

Scripture teaches us that there is a phobia we should live Theophobia, fear of God!

Acts 9:31 church… was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

Living in fear of the Lord caused the church to grow in great numbers

How did living in fear cause great growth in the church? thought no fear, old vs new

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.

The world’s theophobia is wrath; the Word’s Fear of God is the treasure key to all

Treasure Key!

We have the key, but keys must be put in the door and turned, the fear of the Lord!

Isaiah 33:6 He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure

How’s living the fear of God a treasure key for our lives and families?

Psalms 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…

Wisdom here is not just knowing things but living things, right rights, sets the path

Psalms 34:9 Fear the LORD… for those who fear him lack nothing.

The benefits have no end, a fountain of life, evil avoided, leads to life; rests content

It is not a fear or dread of bad things but a path of awe and commitment to serve

The Treasure Key to God’s moving is our submission to God’s authority!

10 men healed, go show to priest, 1 leper returns, other nine did not…

Luke 17:15 One of them, when he saw he was healed…

What did he see the others didn’t see, saw something else, more, greater, deeper!

He saw the authority that brought the healing and authority releases submission

He returned not just to say thanks, the power was not in the appreciation

Not power of healing, healing important, or end as they went, they were cleansed

Not the power of appreciation; it’s the power of authority, stories Jesus’ punch line at the end

He came back praising God, in a loud voice and threw himself at Jesus’ feet

Submit to authority, not silently, quietly, or softly, but in a loud voice, shouting

He was healed in his body, but after loud submission, made completely well

FOTL is not authority over problems, and demons but authority over us, even when we act like demons

God wants healed, but also completely whole, through submission to his authority

The Treasure Key to God’s moving is our submission of our lives!

In the parable of the talents or bags of gold, the servant given 1 made his excuses

Luke 19:21 I was afraid of you… You take out what you did not put in and reap what you did not sow.

Notice his fear about authority, master did not deserve what he did not sow

The servant was rejecting the authority of the master his fear was not fear of God

Why do we not submit to authority? Do we have holy fear, awe, and no one watching?
